The next bag lunch talk will be given by graduate student Moti Lieberman, on the topic of “A Deeper Look at L2 Acquisition of Scalar Implicatures.” The talk will be Thursday, March 6, at 1 PM in the Ling Lounge.

Our beautiful new McGill Linguistics teeshirts and sweatshirts are in! For those of you who have already placed an order, they will be available for pickup on Thursday, March 6th from 1-5pm in the Linguistics Lounge.

Silvina Montrul from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will give a colloquium talk on Friday, March 14, at 3:30 PM in EDUC 211 (Education Building, 3700 McTavish St), on the topic of “Back to Basics: Incomplete Acquisition of Differential Object Marking in Spanish Heritage speakers.”

The talk will be followed by a Wine & Cheese in the Linguistics Lounge, 3rd Floor, 1080 Dr. Penfield (to commence around 5 pm).
